Civil Engineering Department

Civil Engineering is a professional engineering branch that deals with the construction and maintenance of roads, buildings, bridges, highways, canals, dams, airports, railways, pipelines, sewerage systems, design, structural elements of buildings, etc.


Future after Diploma: Direct entry into the second year of degree engineering, job or business opportunities are available in Irrigation Department, Public Works Department (PWD), Railways, Valuer, Zilla Parishad, Surveyor, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, Interior Decorator, Private Construction Works, Contractor, Supervisor, Draftsman, Building Planner, Defence Department (MES, DRDO) etc.

OUR MISSION

  • 1. To develop cognitive competencies towards solving generic civil engineering problems using appropriate educational approaches.
  • 2. To generate concern for environment friendly solutions using ethical engineering practices.
  • 3. To develop adaptability for working in multidisciplinary environment with effective communication.
  • 4.To inculcate skills required for planning, design, execution and maintenance domains of civil engineering.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs):

  • 1.Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the civil engineering problems.
  • 2.Problem analysis: Identify and analyze well-defined civil engineering problems using codified standard methods.
  • 3.Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical civil engineering problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
  • 4.Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
  • 5.Engineering practices for society, sustainability andenvironment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
  • 6.Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined civil engineering activities.
  • 7.Life-long learning: Ability to analyze individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.

  • 1. Construction Planning and Designing: Perform optimal civil engineering construction, planning and designing activities of desired quality at optimal cost.
